Creative Generation: Design

The first Creative Generation: Design program engaged 16 senior design students from metropolitan and regional Queensland as co-designers of an interactive exhibition space at the Queensland Art Gallery.

Open Studio

The online Open Studio provides insights into the creative practice of three contemporary Australian artists.

• Artist Space: The Artist Space is a micro-version of the artist’s own studio. Explore images of the space to gain insights into the artist’s process.
• Artist Gallery: Visit the adjacent Open Studio display to discover a mind map of connections, inspiration and ideas made up of artworks selected by the artist from the QAGOMA Collection. Each reveals a story about the artist’s work and life.
• Artist Videos: Get to know each Open Studio artist by watching artist interviews and viewing the artist’s studio through three dimensional photography.
• Artist Tutorials: Take part in two art station drawing activities specific to the artist’s practice.

Art as Exchange

The Art as Exchange project is an ongoing research and development initiative which aims to support art students to be inspired by the rich histories of Queensland.

The series will be developed progressively as we visit sites. The first in the series is Carnarvon Ranges – a sandstone oasis in the heart of central Queensland.
