Diena Georgetti combines patterns and motifs from art, architecture, fashion, and design into compositions inspired by early modernist styles. Georgetti has specialised in borrowing from modern art and works with an extensive repertoire of images and details, making her selections according to a personal and somewhat eccentric logic. Part idealist, part surrealist, Georgetti constructs her own personal utopia from these fragments. The titles are a guide to the work, often scraps of dialogue or song titles, and generally refer to the artist’s life or her attitudes towards her work.
